Supports LaCrosse Footwear's overall Compliance strategies and initiatives while providing day-to-day monitoring, problem resolution, communication, and leadership to facilitate compliance, cost savings, and on-time delivery to enhance the overall customer experience.



Trade Compliance Program Development & Maintenance

  • Oversee and implement Import/Export compliance activities and ensure full compliance with Import/Export operational procedures and government regulations. This position will establish a complete internal Trade Compliance program and foster compliance across all areas of the organization.
  • Develop procedures, training modules and assessment programs to identify exceptions, develop solutions, and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance manuals and related policies are established and maintained.
  • Perform Post Entry Audits of all Customs entries into the USA, Canada, and Europe and file corrections if necessary. Establish and implement corrective/preventive actions to continually improve process performance.
  • Manage and update USA/Canada/Europe HTS Codes and Duty Rates into all applicable systems. Also prepare binding ruling requests if necessary.
  • Assign, track, and audit all Valuation Assists filed to US Customs, etc.
  • Support the creation of Logistics and Customs KPI's along with a reporting program to be communicated to all applicable departments.
  • Ensure LFI's Duty Drawback program is optimized and the necessary policies, procedures, and system enhancements are in place.
  • Manage the C-TPAT program and implement policies and procedures in conjunction with the new MSC (Minimum Security Criteria) 2020 program.
  • Oversee the implementation of a verification program in affiliation with LFI's Sustainability Program.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead as key contact for Import/Export compliance activities; ensure policies and procedures are standardized, documented, updated, and accessible.
  • Manage Broker partnerships and conduct Broker performance evaluations on a continuous basis.
  • Manage all service provider contracts and processes as they relate to Trade Compliance.
  • Develop and provide internal training for all applicable departments.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in Import/Export operations, Import/Export compliance, international logistics, or U.S. Customs Brokerage.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving internal trade compliance program, policies, and procedures.
  • Previous experience in logistics in the areas day-to-day monitoring and data analysis in the areas of ocean transportation, bulk airfreight, LTL, FTL, and small parcel shipping is desired.
  • Working knowledge of International Transportation, U.S. Customs Laws, Harmonized Tariff Classification, and application of Import/Export trade regulations.
  • A solutions-oriented mentality with a data driven approach.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including V-Lookup, IF Statements, and Pivot Tables), data analysis, and presentation skills to various levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated to identify problems, collaborate and communicate across departments, and meet time sensitive deliverables.
  • Strong team player who can lead as well as follow.
  • Ability to travel as needed.



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Operations, Business, Economics, or related field
  • At least one year of experience with internal and external Customs Audit processes and Reconciliation
  • Experience with Import and Export compliance regulations required
  • U.S. Customs Brokerage License preferred (condition of continued employment)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and Sharepoint preferred


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Director of Compliance and Logistics
