We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor that can join our team for our 2nd shift (swing). 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervises daily manufacturing operations at Danner Shoe manufacturing facility. Drives the factory to be "best in class" in quality, delivery and value to achieve production consistent with Company objectives while maintaining a safe, quality work environment and respect for all employees. Provides leadership, daily work direction, training and motivation to assigned team members in a diverse work force environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION (Other duties may be assigned.):

  • Directly supervises Production and Lead Personnel within specified departments and oversees timely and efficient production of quality footwear.
  • Reassigns priorities and redistributes resources as needed. 
  • Creates a pre-shift plan that describes team member line up, production goals, quality goals, and shift challenges that current set-up will encounter during shift;  discusses plan with management and seeks guidance where necessary.
  • Resolves personnel conflicts and provides motivation and guidance to personnel.
  • Leads and motivates employees to maintain and continuously improve quality of factory operations.
  • Promotes a safe and friendly working environment. 
  • Meets or exceeds production numbers on a consistent basis. 
  • Monitors production output and processes.
  • Educates employees and assists in implementing procedures to reduce the occurrence of work-related injuries (i.e. back strains, repetitive motion injuries).  Promotes education, job rotation, and exercise as appropriate for reducing such injuries.
  • Identifies required training, career planning, and succession planning in the factory.
  • Trains and coaches lead employees in leadership and management skills pertaining to motivating and coaching employees, managing performance, corrective action and resolving environmental issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong organizational skills; the ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints as related to production optimization.
  • Ability to create and motivate a positive, diverse work team.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and conduct ongoing coaching with team members.
  • Proven successful experience with proactive problem resolutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organization from one-on-one to formal presentations.
  • Strong analytical, trouble shooting and decision making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Must be willing to conduct oneself in accordance with Company's Core Values.
  • Physical ability to maneuver on production floor to include standing, talking, hearing feeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, standing, and sitting.
  • Footwear experience desirable.
  • Bi-lingual ability a plus.

SKILLS:

Strong computer software skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook .


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year experience in a supervisory or lead role within a high- volume manufacturing plant. Preferably in the footwear industry.
  • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles, training and projects highly desired.
